There are several things that need to be considered in bathing a baby, especially in certain parts where the conditions are so difficult to reach and also considering the baby’s sensitive skin condition. These specific areas are:
Cleaning around the baby’s genitals
Clean the dirt that is on the foreskin slowly, gently push the skin of the penis against the clothes. Wipe (seko) dirt with wet gauze.
Clean the pubic area from front to back (from the genitals to the anus and can be repeated with new gauze), as well as the groin.
Clean the inside of the ear and nose
- Clean the exposed nostrils with a damp cotton swab.
- Clean the outer ear which can be seen with a damp cotton.
