Types of Diseases that Come from Gadgets

But you know, the result of too often or being avid with this technology can actually have a negative impact on its sophistication. If you are a gadget enthusiast and are very dependent and cannot get away from gadgets, then you should be aware of some diseases that may be lurking around you.

Here are some diseases that can be caused by gadget addiction:

1. Insomnia

Not a few people are willing to wake up in the middle of the night to just open an incoming message or an incoming notification from their gadget. But you know, the habit of opening gadgets at night can indirectly disrupt your sleep cycle. The bright light emitted from the gadget or smartphone that you activate, can suppress the release of the hormone that functions the sleep process, namely the hormone melantonin which is produced by the body when it is dark or without light. And without realizing it, the light that emits will keep your mind from entering the ‘default network mode’, which is a semi-conscious state.

Insomnia sufferers have a higher risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and hypertension, in a chronic phase, insomnia can be dangerous to cause death for sufferers. It’s just that before it’s too late, insomnia due to excessive use of gadgets can actually be prevented by stopping the use of gadgets for about 2 hours before bedtime to reduce the effect of light emitting which can suppress the production of the hormone melantonin.

2. Nomophobia

Nomophobia or stands for ‘no-mobile-phone-phobia, which is a condition in which the body will feel excessive anxiety when separated from its gadgets or smartphones. A study revealed that about 66% of people who are addicted to gadgets experience this phobia. Signs and symptoms that appear in the sufferer include feelings of anxiety, sweating, trembling and anxiety when separated from his gadget.

3. Scrotal Hyperthermia

Things like this should be watched out, especially for those of you who often operate laptor on their thighs. Because by placing the laptop on the thigh, it can increase the surrounding temperature to six times higher. Meanwhile for men, conditions like this will make vital organs warmer and make sperm production decrease.

4.Texting Thumb (Tendinitis)

Long-term or long-term use of fingers and hands on gadgets, periodically and continuously can injure the reservoir, nerves and muscles. Generally, the injury to the thumb is called the Blackberry Thumb, while the injury to the hand is called the iPad Hand. In addition, the more severe types of injury that may be experienced are numbness, muscle damage, pain, and require surgery for treatment.

Everything that exceeds the limit is certainly not good, as well as when using gadgets, excessive use of gadgets can have a negative impact on body health. For this reason, you should wisely use gadgets and use them as needed. Because to be healthy is expensive.
