1. Straighten Wrist
Your habit of bending and rotating your wrists when you feel achy in your hands should be avoided from now on. A study states, stretching by bending and twisting the wrist can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, which is a kind of sprain. Another alternative, you should make the wrist position as comfortable as possible, if necessary, use a wrist support to hold it so that your wrist is easier and free to move.
2. Leaning too much on the chair is not good
Even though the position of leaning back on a chair feels so comfortable, medically speaking, this position is not good for health, because it can trigger problems in the spine. In addition, your sitting position in front of the computer must always be upright. If possible, you should adjust the chair settings so that it feels comfortable on your back. So that you can minimize the risk of osteoporosis.
3. Give Pause and Rest
Make sure you give a break, half an hour is highly recommended to break the tension in your eyes that keep staring at the monitor screen. Staring at another object for 20 seconds is enough to help you relieve tension. But it would be better, if you could take the time to get out of your seat to just take a small walk to a colleague’s desk or go to the toilet to just wash your face so you look fresher. At least by walking there will be an increase in physical activity such as moving and it is good for tense muscles in your body.
4. Do not be too pushy eyes
Your effort to see the small letters on the monitor screen by craning your neck so you can see it can trigger stress in the head and over time it will blur your vision. For that, make sure that the distance between the eyes and the monitor screen is not too far away, and you should adjust the size of the writing on the monitor screen with the ability of your eyes to see, so that your eye burden is not too heavy.
5. Avoid Using the Keyboard on Laptops
Using a laptop as your work facility is indeed an easy thing, that way you don’t have to bother turning on the CPU and adjusting other supporting devices such as mice, keyboards and so on. But unfortunately typing on a laptop sometimes goes awry. If the position of the keypad is placed in a comfortable position then the screen position will be too low, and vice versa if the screen is positioned ideally then the keypad will be too high. And preferably, typing using your laptop to avoid your body position feels comfortable and will not be too overwhelmed. If possible, it’s best to use an external keyboard that’s separate from the laptop to make it more comfortable.
