Maintaining Smooth Asi During Fasting

The smoothness of breastfeeding when fasting will not be disturbed, considering that as long as you are fasting, your nutritional intake will be maintained, it’s just that the time for your food consumption changes, namely when suhoor and iftar As long as you fast, body fluids are indirectly regulated by the brain so that lack of fluids does not cause you to become dehydrated.

Expenditures of urine and sweat will be saved even though body fluids are reduced by 2 to 3 percent. The composition of breast milk will not change during fasting, because there are reserves in the body in the form of energy, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals.

If you experience problems with the fluency of breastfeeding, it can be caused by two factors, namely physical and psychological factors. Entering the month of Ramadan and intending to fast while breastfeeding, keep your breastfeeding smooth with the following steps:

1. Fulfill Nutritional Needs

Psychologically, if your nutritional intake is not fulfilled during the fasting month, it will affect the smoothness of breastfeeding because the reserves are used more quickly. Drastic weight loss will be possible if the food intake at dawn and eating is not sufficient. For breastfeeding mothers the need will be twofold considering the nutrition your baby needs through the food extract from breast milk according to your food intake.

2. Always Maintain Health

Lack of breastfeeding can be caused by disturbing your health. Therefore, always keep your health during the fasting month. Hormonal factors also play a role in smooth breastfeeding. It’s a good idea to pay attention to your health both in terms of the intake of food you consume at dawn and breaking the fast so that it doesn’t result in weakened body resistance.

3. Avoid Many Thoughts

Psychological factors that result in disruption of fluency include the many burdens you experience, therefore avoid being pressured by work or activity factors so that you can still think positively in doing your activities. Use your best rest time during the day even if it’s only for a few hours. Night sleep is very good for you, make your rest time quality.

4. Don’t Force

If you still have problems with your breastfeeding, don’t force it to fast. As it has become a relief in Islam that women who are pregnant and breastfeeding have a dispensation not to fast, therefore you should consider your decision to fast. Consult a doctor so that it does not interfere with your breastfeeding and the health of the baby. The natural process of breastfeeding is the same obligation as you provide the best life for your baby especially if your baby is under six months old, very dependent on breastfeeding.
