Sad, These Children Are Forced To Flee Without Family

Nirmala Adrian February 11, 2021

Refuge as a temporary place for those affected by the disaster. There are always many touching stories. Likewise with these children who fled alone without their closest family.

Displacement does not only happen to victims of natural disasters, situations that threaten the security and safety of their residence can be a reason for displacement. Even what was touching at the refugee camp was that there were many stories from refugees who touched him looking for family members.

For example, conflicts that occurred in several countries have forced their citizens to flee, leaving their hometowns for a better life. As reported, many of those who fled came from two countries, namely Afghanistan and Syria. Refugees are mostly children who fled without families.

The number of recorded around 28 million children around the world had to flee. The main cause is conflict and violence in the country. It is even sad that nearly 14 million have left their hometowns just to find a better life.

This report is supported by the fact that UNICEF, children constitute a third of the world and almost of them live in refugee camps. Even in the last decade, it was noted that the number of refugee children has doubled. This is what makes very serious attention even to world institutions.

In its data, the UNICEF report said that 45 percent of refugee children came from two countries, including Afghanistan and Syria. Even more touching were the children who fled apart from their families. They fled independently without their parents.

Even though at the age of children, the affection from their families is needed. It’s really touching, they don’t even have certificates. Even psychologically they experience stress, including harassment and abuse that happened to them. This condition was also reported directly by UNICEF.

The UNICEF report, which deals directly with displaced children, is reported in the title “The Crisis of Child Refugees and Migrants”. With this condition UNICEF calls on the public to provide education, protection and health insurance for children in refugee camps.

The condition that happens to these children really needs serious attention. Attention related to the psyche. A decent life so that the world gets children like they are at her age. So that refugee children can be given proper education, health insurance and proper protection.

Separated without any information that could provide information that their family was making the volunteer team difficult. Even among them, they were devastated, it was as if they were in a hit condition causing a psychological disturbance. This should be a serious concern not only of UNICEF but other concerned institutions.

It is worrying if the conflicts in these countries have not subsided, resulting in many conditions that are increasingly devastating for children. What should be a concern is their age education which should be fulfilled. Likewise with their health that needs attention.

Even without proper protection it can be as if they are overwhelmed. As it is known, they came to the refugee camp without any information regarding the origin of their family. So that many lose important data about them. This also requires immediate attention to get help.

Hopefully the conflicts that have occurred in several countries will be resolved soon so that no more child refugees lose information about themselves or their families. After all they are victims who need immediate help.
