And it is not impossible when these instincts come out, our lives are at stake. On the one hand, the existence of these pets can be an advantage, they can be used as human companions who are always loyal, but on the other hand they can also be a threat that is not unexpected, especially when their position is being threatened, one of our lives is at stake.
When pets act and behave inappropriately, you should be careful and start to stay away. But if they start hurting you such as scratching or biting you, you will panic. To fix this, then do first aid to animal bites in the following way.
1. For minor wounds
If you are attacked by a pet or other animal, it is like being bitten and having minor injuries to the body. The first thing you have to do is try not to panic, treat the wound like a small wound. After that, immediately wash the wound with antibacterial soap and rinse with clean water. To prevent the spread of germs or infection, you should give antibiotic cream using gauze.
2. For deep wounds
If an animal bite results in a stab wound, tearing or even tearing until it bleeds, this may make you panic and go awry. However, if panic stops you from getting first aid, then you can imagine how much blood will be removed. Stop panicking and start pressing the wound with a clean, dry cloth to stop the bleeding that can come out more then immediately go to the doctor for treatment. It’s better not to handle internal wounds alone, this is to avoid infection from the tools and materials you use to treat wounds.
3. For wounds with potential for infection
After being bitten by an animal and you see signs of infection in the bite wound such as swelling, redness, pain, you should immediately see a doctor for further treatment.
4. For suspected rabies injuries
If you suspect that a star bite that causes injury to body parts is caused by an animal that may carry rabies, such as dogs, raccoons, bats, cats and other animals including other wild animals, the first aid you can do is to immediately wash the wound with soap and clean water approximately 10 to 15 minutes. After giving alcohol or betadine, then immediately take it to the doctor, or the nearest hospital for immediate medical help.
The side effects of animal bites, especially wild animals that do not get vaccinated, should not be underestimated. The saliva found in wild animals contains so many germs and diseases, and it is not impossible to contain venom that can harm your health, so doing first aid after an attack is an important way to do before being brought to a doctor.
