Tips for Caring and Maintaining Health for Diabetes Patients

Experts say that diabetics need to always try to keep blood sugar levels close to non-diabetic blood sugar levels. This may sound impossible to diabetics themselves. However, whether it is denied or not, this is the only important way to maintain their health condition. Consult with your doctor first how your blood sugar should be.

Eat Healthy Foods

Diabetics do not need special food, let alone luxury food with a delicious and special taste. All diets that are good for diabetics are foods that have the same effect as non-diabetes. For that, try to sort out foods for your consumption such as foods that are low in fat, salt, low in sugar but high in fiber. The types of food that are good for consumption include foods such as nuts, fruits, vegetables and other healthy foods.

All consumption of these foods will be able to help you maintain your weight, maintain glucose levels in the body and prevent heart complications and damage to blood vessels. It’s just that, first consult with your doctor or nutritionist to help prepare a healthy menu for you to consume.

Exercise Regularly

Exercising regularly is a good thing for diabetics to do. Walking, swimming, dancing, cycling and other sports are important things to do. You can even exercise at home, such as cleaning the house or gardening. The most important thing is to do movements that will make you more active. The benefits of this activity will provide good benefits, such as:

  • Exercising will keep your weight more stable
  • Exercise will help insulin performance
  • Exercise will be beneficial and good for the heart and lungs
  • Exercise will give you more energy
  • Exercising will be able to make the body fresher and stamina.

It’s just that, before you exercise it would be better if you consult this problem with your doctor first. The doctor will check your heart and feet to make sure you don’t have any complaints or problems. If your blood pressure is high or you have eye problems, your doctor will recommend certain sports for you.

Don’t Miss Medication

Insulin and diabetes pills and injections (Byetta, Symlin or victoza) are types of drugs that are generally given to lower blood sugar levels in the body.

When You Use Insulin:

You take insulin when your body stops producing insulin or your body doesn’t produce enough of the insulin it needs.

Insulin cannot be taken as a pill. You need to inject this material into the body every day. Some people will inject insulin once a day. Others may do it 2 or more times a day.

We recommend that you consult your doctor first about the use of this insulin. What type of insulin and how many levels of insulin you need to use in one day. Get help from friends or family if you don’t feel confident about injecting insulin into your body or when your hands are tight or your vision starts to blur.

The parts that are generally the best places to inject insulin are:

  • The outermost part of the upper arm
  • Around the waist
  • The outermost part of the upper leg
  • Consult with the dictator or midwife first
  • Avoid body parts that have scars or stretch marks

When You Don’t Use Insulin or Diabetes Pills

Many people with type 2 diabetes do not need to use insulin or diabetes pills. However, all diabetics need to follow the doctor’s advice in order to get a healthy diet that can be consumed. In addition, you also need to pay attention to always running sports regularly.

Check Blood Sugar Levels Every Day

The last important step to take is that you need to know how well and control the diabetes condition exists. The best way to find out is to do a blood sugar level test. If your blood contains too little or too much sugar in it, doctors will generally suggest changing the healthy diet that you have been consuming. Not only that, the doctor will also advise you to do sports and recheck the medicines you are taking. So so, don’t be reluctant to go to the doctor and have your health condition checked regularly so that the doctor can monitor your health condition properly.

Those are some important diabetes care tips to know. Hope it is useful.
