The research began by asking respondents to memorize a list of 15 words after 30 minutes of hearing them. The ability to remember the respondents was tested simultaneously with blood sugar tests. The respondents also underwent a brain scan procedure to find out how much hippocampus tissue they had.
From the results of this research, it was found that respondents who had a lower amount of blood sugar tended to have better scores on a memory test. Meanwhile, respondents who had more sugar in their blood scored worse on memory tests.
